The first Official Formula 1 race was run today in 1950. The race had 22 entries and interestingly no car run the number 13. Giuseppe Farina took Pole position and went on to Win the race.
On this day the 7th April 1968 Jim Clark double Formula 1 world champion died in an non-championship F2 race in Hockenheimring Germany.
